Rita: A mobile app that empowers caregivers to record and share information about the overall wellness of those they oversee.

Hackathon: LYLAS Labs

Subject Matter Expert: Rachel Hills, CEO of PowerBitches

The Rita app was conceptualized and designed at the LYLAS Lab’s Women @ Work Hackathon. A day-long Hackathon held at Flatiron School. Our team was tasked with developing a solution to build awareness and educate the general public about Universal Family Care. To tackle this problem we proposed an app solution consisting of an Rx “Folder”, Day-to-Day Journal, “Team” Capabilities, Appointments, and Documents.

About the Rita App

A mobile app that empowers caregivers to record and share information about the overall wellness of those they oversee. Features include: Rx “Folder, Day-To-Day Journal, “Team” Capabilities, Appointments Scheduler, and Document storage.

Accountabud: A mobile app for tracking and staying accountable in activism efforts

Being an effective ally to the Black Lives Matter movement takes more than just posting a black square on social media. It requires an ongoing process of education, activism, and accountability. With our app, Accountabud, allies of the Black community can commit to daily, impactful goals and track their progress. The app was created for a Black Lives Matter Hackathon in June 2020.

Further Accountabud App Inspiration:

The hope to find a Long term solution rather than a one time action or social media post. We also found that it can be overwhelming when there are a lot of resources to navigate. Instead of feeling helpless in the BLM movement, we and hopefully one day our users can refer to this app and commit to impactful goals– realistic actions that day by day will lead to real change.
