Grace In Space: A VR mobile game app

The goal of the app is to help an elderly alien named grace, who drops her bag and loses her belongings, collect all her belongings in a virtual reality space scene. Wherein the user clicks on the screen to collect the items in a given timeframe. I contributed greatly to the Front-end; by working on the styling, creating 3D objects and images for the app.

In addition, I worked on functionalities such as the ability to navigate from static pages to the VR scene, as well as applying a static footer in the VR scene, and creating loading states to wait for large image files to appear before loading pages in fully.

The idea started out when my group decided we wanted to make a virtual reality app and then we decided to have an elderly alien protagonist. It meant so much to watch people play and enjoy our game during beta testing. We worked as a true team to come up with the idea and pair programmed throughout the project.

Game Play

The user has the option to play signed in or as a signed out user. If the user is signed in then they will have access to their personal high score list.

The user will view the instruction screen which tells them they will have a set amount of time to find all 10 items. The items can be floating anywhere in the Virtual Reality space scene.

Next the user picks a level: easy, medium, or hard. Depending on the level chosen, the items will move faster or slower in the game space. And then the game begins once everything is loaded. The user wins by finding all 10 items within the 25 second time window.
